Provider Search Pages
Most group, Medicare, and Individual health insurance, and dental plans come with a provider network. Use network providers to get the most benefit form your health and dental insurance plans. Some services may be covered out of your network, if you have out of network benefits, or if it is an emergency, or if it is pre-approved by the plan. A basic description of each type of plan is provided below, with links to the carrier search pages.
Health Maintenance Organization (HMO); these plans have a certain status in the industry, and may require the selection of a primary care provider, referrals to see specialists, integrated health care, and in-network care only, except for emergencies, and lower insurance rates.
Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO); these plans have some member responsibilities that may include selection of a primary care provider, referrals, care at certain locations, some integrated care, and lower insurance rates.
Preferred Provider Organization (PPO); these plans have more flexibility, and usually include in and out of network coverage. Primary care providers are usually not required, but can be recommended, so members can have a point of contact when the need care.
Most providers are now offering some form of Telemedicine/TeleHealth/Teladoc services.
